Each retreat has an opening reception at nearby Carruth Cellars the night before the start of the retreat at 4pm-6pm.
Introducing: Mixed Media Exploration-It's only paint and you’re the BOSS!
In this 3-day class, I will teach gelli plate printing, image transfer, tape transfers, hand painted collage and more! We will explore how color theory can make your work stronger. You will apply your personal creativity and intuition to transform a pair of wooden panels and a totem into unique decorative art pieces using handmade collage papers, acrylic paint, oil pastels and sticks, charcoal, stencils, and spray paint. I will demonstrate how to use different materials and tools to apply distinctive textures.
The arts district of Liberty Station is surrounded by fine restaurants, museums and galleries, theaters, the San Diego Watercolor Society, a 9-hole golf course, mini golf, winery, and Liberty Public Market. We are minutes away from San Diego’s downtown, Gaslamp District, Little Italy, historic Old Town, Balboa Park, and Cabrillo National Monument in Point Loma. After class, check out Mission Bay or nearby La Jolla and Coronado.
Discounted hotel rates at Courtyard by Marriott, Liberty Station, will be available, walking distance to the studio/retreat center.
This is a Three-Day IN PERSON workshop held at my studio in San Diego at Arts District Liberty Station:
Cost: $995 includes all art materials (two 14in x14in cradled wooden panels and one 6in x 60in totem). Space is limited to 2 people and fills up quickly. All you need to bring is yourself.
